Train Of Lights. Outside.

there is small town tucked into a pretty valley, just a few miles from where i live. it's really surprising that it's there, among the huge san francisco bay area.  it's called Sunol. there is a railway station there and a big collection of old train cars. they have an event every christmas that  you have to buy tickets  for months in advance. the train runs from the station, through the old trains, to the end of the line, and back again. 

they call it the Train of Lights. it's decorated, with christmas lights,  and was full of people giving out eggnog and hot cocoa plus homemade cookies. 

it was so much fun, not too terribly cold and everybody on it was happy! the children weren't screaming, no one was being annoying or rude or any of the things i expect to run into in  public situations, and especially during the race to get ready for christmas, just a few days before the actual day.
